Chili

Ingredients

  • olive oil
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/2 12-oz can of beef broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons jalapenos, seeded and diced
  • 2 12-oz cans chili beans, rinsed
  • 1 28-oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 12-oz can tomato paste
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced

Directions

In a medium skillet, brown ground meat.  Drain and remove from pan.  Add olive oil to the pan and saute onion for 3 minutes.  Add garlic and saute another 2 mintues.  Remove from pan.

Put all ingredients in a slow cooker and cook for 6-8 hours on low or 2-4 hours on high.
