Grandma’s Almond Sugar Cookies

* 1 cup butter
* 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
* 1 well beaten egg
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
* 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
* 2 1/2 cups flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
* 1 bag almonds


Preheat over to 375?.

Cream together butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract and mix well.

In a separate bowl, mix together flour, soda and cream of tartar. Mix the flour mixture into the butter mixture slowly and thouroughly.

Roll the dough into balls 1 inch in diameter. Place on a cookie sheet greased with butter. Flatten slightly and put almond on the top of each. Bake 10-12 minutes.
